A recent innovative strategy in Assisted Reproduction is the freezing of all the embryos which are produced after ovarian stimulation in an IVF cycle and the transfer of them in subsequent natural or artificial cycles. By following this strategy we can bypass the potentially adverse effects of ovarian stimulation on the endometrium, we can eliminate the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), we can prevent some pregnancy complications that have been associated with IVF (like babies with low birth weight and some placenta abnormalities), while we can achieve similar (or even better) success rates compared to 'fresh' cycles (where embryotransfer follows ovarian stimulation and oocyte retrieval) .
More interestingly, women with multiple implantation failures in ‘fresh’ cycles could have a particular benefit with this strategy as the adverse effects of the stimulation on their endometrium may be more remarkable
